You have support choices with subscription software. 

You are not obligated to take support contracts from cloud software vendors.   In fact, you can typically drop their support at any time and there will be no degregation of service. 

Software as a service cloud vendors have got to fix bugs and update the software because everyone is on the same version.   In other words, why pay for additional support ?
